NOTES IN THE MARGINS What remains from reading a book - a memory of the text, or our reaction to it? The drawings in the notes in the margin series allude to my past, a personal history of reading and marking up texts. However, the layering and erasure that created these drawings belong in the present, a moment in which the memory of the words has yielded to a recognition of the trace markings of a long ago self.
